Two students of UPI Mathematics Education Department, Namely Salwa Nursyahida (0900700) and Winda Yulia (0800009) won 1st and 3rd place respectively at pertamina National Science Olympics in West Java Province. The first stage was held on September 27, 2011. At this stage, the two students are included in the top 9 participants who qualify for the second stage, namely the final selection at the provincial level that will compete for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd provincial levels. The second stage test includes a written test, then the three best in this written test are entitled to present the paper that has been made containing the completion of the open endedproblem. In the written test, Salwa and Winda achieved positions 1 and 2, after the presentation of the paper, Winda’s position changed to 3rd position. Thus, Salwa became the 1st place and Winda became the 3rd winner at the selection level of West Java province.

Congratulations to Salwa and Winda who have scented the name of UPI at the West Java level, and congratulations on fighting to Salwa who will represent UPI and West Java in the final of PERTAMINA OSN center 2011. Hopefully Salwa can get the best results and also be able to scent the name of UPI at the National level.
